Hope Community Church, 974 Lassen Lane in Mount Shasta, is accepting donations for those who lost their homes in the Boles Fire in Weed. Clothing, non-perishable food, and toiletries can be left on the front porch of the church.

If you live in Anderson or Cottonwood and are unable to attend worship services Sunday mornings, Neighborhood Church of Anderson/Cottonwood has just launched a new Saturday evening worship service at 6:00pm. the church is at 4684 Rhonda Rd, just south of Wal-mart.

Shasta Food Group gleaners are ready to pick fruit and veggies from homes and businesses in the Redding area — food that would otherwise go unused to make available for families, the elderly and children through local food banks. Share your backyard bounty. Call 605-1091.

Jehovah Rapha meets September 18th at 6:00pm at the Cozy Diner in Red Bluff. This is a group for those with degenerative disease.

The annual Care Net Pregnancy Center banquet and auction is September 19th at Redding Christian Fellowship, 2157 Victor Ave., Redding. Call 246-7075 for details and tickets.

The Homes of Hope Bride’s March is September 20th at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, a memorial walk to help end spousal abuse. Call 530-347-1330 to be involved.

There will be a Winter Warmth Drive at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 455 Jefferson in Red Bluff to benefit the PATH Shelters in the area, September 21st and 28th from 8:00 to Noon.

The sixth annual Blast From The Past car show and family fun day is coming to Valley Christian Fellowship, 3180 Rancho Rd., Redding on September 27th. Cars arrive at 7:00 while other activities begin at 10:30 and run to 1:30.

A free organ recital comes to Redding as music professor Dr. David Rothe of Chico State performs Bach, September 28th at 4:00pm at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 1750 Canby Rd.
