God’s Precious Jewels is in need of used Gospel songbooks in good condition. They will be distributed to Native American congregations. Call 530-514-3909 if you can help.

Providence International invites you to help grow the Garden of Hope for a tour of the site on the first “no-rain” Saturday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00pm. You can also garden, mentor, harvest or market the healthy food. Call 215-1032 for details.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Redding hosts an early learning center for youngsters, beginner with an open house and barbecue September 27th from 6:00 to 7:30. The church is located at 2440 Hilltop Dr.

Phil Dickey will be in concert at the Ono-Igo Community Church on Placer Rd. in Igo, September 28th at 6:00. This is a free event.

Helping Hands Boutique clothing give-away is set for September 30th from 10:00 to 2:00 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2440 Hilltop Dr., Redding.

See and hear Olympic Gold Medalist Ruthie Bolton at a dinner presented by Homes of Hope for Victims of Domestic Abuse, September 30th at historic Hawes Farm. The event begins at 4:00pm with dinner at 6:00 and the speaker at 7:00. More information is available at this link.

Calvary Chapel Red Bluff presents Tent Peg Village, a free, carnival-type family fun event from Noon to 5:00 in Corning, at the corner of Solano and Lincoln, September 30th.

Simpson University for Seniors is accepting students for their October classes. The two new courses are: “Coming to America: This History and Meaning of Immigration” (10:20am), and “The Customs and Culture of the Ancient Israelites” (11:30am). Classes meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting October 2nd. Register online here.
